BRIEF HISTORY OF THE HOUSE.
Belle Ville is a seventeenth century brick and oak beamed cottage. Some of the original beams still show. It has a thatched roof and was a typical copyholder's(landowners) house. It is so named because the industry belonging to the house was sheep bell making. There was a blacksmiths shop and forge in building's next to the house; these are no longer standing. When the house was purchased in 1955 by the present owners; Mr & Mrs K Hayward this was falling down. In 1991 the extension was rebuilt and some of the original foundations were found.
N.B Since the photographs were taken some of the outbuildings have been removed.
